American feminist icon Betty Friedan has died aged 85. Ms Friedan wrote "The Feminine Mystic" in 1963 in which she argued that the feminine mystic was a myth sold to women by society and one that left them unfulfilled. She later went on to found the National Association of Women (NOW) and was active in the pro-choice movement.
