“In Dele Giwa’s shoes”

Short film by Chinedum Iregbu – Dele Giwa, Nigerian founding editor of Newswatch magazine who was killed by a parcel bomb in 1986. Writing during the regime of General Babanigda, Dele Giwa’s killers have never been found but speculation has always remained that somehow the government or their agents were involved.

Four young journalists who were hound by the law, haunted by politicians and chased by hired assassins all in their quest for fair reporting and obligation to report just the truth to their society.

  1. Thanks for sharing the video. I wonder if history has repeated itself with the recent slaying of Guardian political editor Bayo Ohu. His own death has been credited to armed robbers, but circumstances surrounding the murder have me thinking otherwise.
    .-= Nneoma´s last blog ..please…put a quick end to "iwuruwuru" now… =-.

Nneoma@ Nearly 25 yrs has passed and & still the truth about Dele Giwa’s death is not known. I hope this will not be the same in the case of Bayo Ohu but I would not hold my breath for the truth to come out any sooner if ever!

  3. Freedom of press has a long way to go in Nigeria.
